Description

Payback is an alternative rock band from Volx, a small village in the PACA region of
South East France. The band was officially formed in 2019 by Loris, Lenny and Max
Tedoldi (two brothers and their father).

 

History :
The idea to create the band was born in 2019 for the end-of-year show of the
Manosque drum school whose Lenny (16 years old at that time) was supposed to
play 2 songs on drums. He was joined by his brother Loris (19 at the time) on vocals
and their father Max on guitar. At the same time, they proposed to Pierre-H (a long-
time friend of Max) to join them on the second guitar for this event.

 

The show went well, so they decided to continue and put together a repertoire of
compositions and covers only in English.
They rehearsed their 2-hour show every Saturday in their garage, mixing songs from
Linkin Park, Papa Roach, Avenged Sevenfold, Staind, Stone Sour and many others
to which they are fans. The name of the band “PAYBACK” was chosen rather quickly
because it made direct sense to each member of the band.

At the same time, they recruited a bass player from the same village. But after several months of
work, he finally decided to leave the band. It was then that Pierre-H switched from
rhythm guitar to bass and piano.
 

During the year 2019, they signed up for a few events (contests, springboards, etc…)
obliging them to edit their first video clip on their own, this one being called "Live
Among the Stars" a song written by Max and Loris.
This clip allowed them to win a rock contest in Manosque allowing them to record this
song correctly in a studio. Unfortunately, this never happened.
 

In 2020, then comes the Covid crisis which was a huge brake for the organization of
events. The band took the opportunity to put together a repertoire of only
compositions with the idea of recording their first album.
In 2021, the band decided to return to the studio for the recording of their album:
«Never Again» in spring-summer 2022.
The album finalized, some musical differences having created within the group,
Pierre-H decided to leave it.
 

The band was then in «stand-by» for several months until the meeting of a rhythm
guitarist : Dom. He was very interested in our album and immediately introduced us to
his high school friend : Philippe for bass. By chance, Max knew Philipe and both had
played together in their youth.
 

At the end of 2022, the band was again full and repeated every weekend to play in as
many places as possible in 2023.
